Homed YMCA Sleepout

Event Date:
Saturday, 1 March, 2014

Homed Newcastle are organising a sleepout outside the union to raise funds and awareness for Newcastle's branch of YMCA. Come join us as we hear from ex homeless people, play games (points mean prizes!), have an authentic 'soup run' from the YMCA and a less authentic dominoes pizza run late in the night to warm ourselves up! We will provide hot drinks, a gazebo and some cardboard You will need to wear warm clothes and bring a sleeping bag/LOTS of warm things! We will ask people to bring a donation/sponsorship of £20 minimum but if that is going to be a problem let one of the committee know. Raising more than this is our aim and would be such a fantastic way to support a local charity. "Newcastle YMCA Byker Neighbourhood Youth Project works with young people aged between 16- 25 years, our aims are to support vulnerable and disadvantaged young people who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Newcastle YMCA have a team of youth workers who are always available to give one to one crisis support. Whether it be long or short term we will tailor the support to each individuals needs through crisis intervention work. Your donations can make a difference please support the valuable work we do and give a homeless or vulnerable young person the opportunity to feel a valued part of our society." We're going to have lots of fun and promise it won't be too cold!
